Taylor Shellfish Farms has been in business for over a hundred years and has led industry efforts towards environmental, social and economic sustainability in shellfish farming focusing on three areas: certification, political advocacy for clean water, and environmental education & community engagement.
“It is an honor to be recognized by SeaWeb [as a Seafood Champion]. My family has been sustainably farming shellfish in Puget Sound for over 100 years and in that time we have learned that the success of our business depends on clean water, a healthy environment and a vibrant local community. Many of our workers have been with us for 20 or 30 years and many of our tideland farms have been continuously seeded and harvested for generations. As we look toward the next 100 years of sustainably farming the tidelands, we will continue our family commitment to Puget Sound, to our workers and to our community. Thanks to SeaWeb for recognizing our efforts.”
